Air volume calc
you need 50 cubic feet of air per 1,000BTU input into the appliance. If you are fired at .75GPH then you need 5,250 Cubic feet of air per hour.
140,000 Btus in a gallon of oil. 140,000 - 25%= 105,000 / 1,000=105 * 50= 5,250. That way you have enough fudge in your calc to overcome the 20% swing in nozzle sizing. the calc is the same for gas. Field Controls makes a good outside air kit for most burners. all you need to do is follow their instructions and you should be fine.0
