Pellet with Hot air vs Propane with radiant

My brother is building a 2000 sqft house in orange county NY.   It is going to have all double pane low e w/argon windows and spray foam insulation.   He is trying to figure out what type of heating system to put in.  I told him to do radiant with high efficiency propane boiler, only cost to him would be material(I would install it for him at no cost).   He is leaning toward a high efficiency hot air furnace with a pellet furnace ducted in with it.  I don't see the savings that much on pellet furnaces.  What do you guys think.  I think he would spend about the same amount with the radiant to heat  than with the hassle of the pellets and the furnace combo.  A Pellet boiler is really expensive( I called a few places and was shocked at the cost) and would not be a viable option.

I would look at the pellet boiler. How many tons of pellets would you burn?



what brand is the 95% pellet boiler? can I look at it on line? Will it be sold by traditional wholesalers or just by dealers?

How many BTU's in a Ton (2000#) of wood pellets?

No where near as many BTU's in an amount of pellets compared to an equivalent amount of Propane.
