    CAUTION!

Having seen what the insides of this air separator looks like after a few months in service, I would not be one to use this air separator. I was shocked when I first saw the rust covered "stainless steel" pall rings that were pulled from service!

Any idea where the rust came from?

Was the water so corrosive that the pall rings rusted? Or was there so much rust in the system that it stuck to the pall rings?

Would the rust wash off the rings, or would they have to be replaced? Would a Y-separator have done any better? Or would it have either passed the rust straight through, or clogged up?
