    Thanks for the help. I have been pondering if this control would be a benefit to our next heating installation. The system will be a converted gravity with one zone for two apartments. I think a feedback control would help.



    One question I have though is, does the Vitotrol 300 need to be set up with a mixing valve?

    either control can be set up with the sensor enabled. the 300 allows changes in the curve and DHWT without going to the boiler. I'd recommend you take the Viessmann class in either RI or Waterloo to expand your knowledge base on the boiler and the proper controls.  the control does not need to be set up with a mixing valve...the low loss header and sensor does need to be installed if flow rates exceed 6.5gpm.
