Well, it's probably out of warranty

so that wouldn't be an issue.

Either the Carlin EZ-Gas with the 9-slot air tube (part#99392C I believe) or the HeatWise SU-2 would be a good choice. You want a burner with a short flame pattern so it won't slam the target.

I'd replace the chamber too, it's a good idea to start with a fresh one.

You'll need to change the barometric to a double-swing type and add blocked-flue switches to it. Field makes some nice units in this area.

And of course, tune it with an analyzer.

Is this a hot-water or steam system?

    Chamber

I hear different recommendations with leaving the chamber in or taking them out with a gun type gas conversion . Some say the reflected heat on flame off fouls the flame sensors ? I had a problem with a Riello in a Peerless and the field tech recommended pulling the chamber. Anyone else had this problem with sensors ?

Wouldn't Touch It With A Ten Foot Pole

Before you decide to due this make sure the homeowner is fully aware that you are not responsible for any warranties due to iron failure. With the problems with the V7 cast and the problem Burnham had with them you don't want to own a problem that isn't the cause of your fault. Dot your "i's: and cross your "t's" on this one.

The iron is most likely still under warranty although pro-rated. We still get a warranty here and there. Once you covert the boiler what's left is gone.

If the boiler came with a chamber

we leave it in. The sections were designed to work with a chamber, and we don't change that. Haven't had any issues with sensors.

HVHEHCCA, are there really any V-7 boilers that might still be under warranty? I thought they brought the V-8 series out well over ten years ago.

    Warranty is probably gone....

...if you tell Burnham that you fired it with gas. My guess is, they won't even ask. We still get V-7's under warranty from time to time. Biggest thing is it has to be the original purchaser.
