im in the market of buying an infared scanner .anyone can advice which one will be good to detect underground leaks?

How deep?
If you mean radiant tube depth versus outside utilities, I own a FLIR b50 which is their mid-range hand-held thermographic camera. I use it for building diagnostics (the shell) as well as system performance, leaks and the like. While not cheap, they cost a lot less than they did five years ago.
If you want higher resolution, the larger format that I call a "two-hand" camera, about doubles the price.
But if you are talking lines buried below frost line, I am not sure what that would tell you that melted snow would not.
There are lower priced versions about half the price of the FLIR, but you get what you pay for. They may be perfectly adequate for what you are doing though!"If you do not know the answer, say, "I do not know the answer", and you will be correct!"
