Why vent
the pellet stove in a chimney? They sidewall vent normally0 -
Hearth in middle
My customer has a hearth in the middle of the living room. He is taking out a wood stove for insurance reasons and wants to add a pellet stove.0 -
There should have been
a separate flue, if the wood stove was legal, or installed to code. Are you sue that is a common flue?0 -
I don't believe..
there are any pellet stoves that are designed to vent into a chimney. You can drop a liner down the chimney for a pellet stove, but only if it is NOT serving any another applance.
Read the manual from the stove, or call them and ask for their input.0 -
pellet stoves are
not negative pressure appliances. They have a positive pressure vent system. A chimney for your oil appliance is a negative pressure system. You cannot combine the two. As well NFPA 31 specifically prohibits solid fuel and oil venting into the same flue.0
