Came across a Dunham Bush Vari-Vac controller.

Need a wiring diagram for this thing if it exists.

    The Vari-Vac

was the ultimate in modulating steam systems. It used several different devices- can you take a pic of what you have?

I have some old Dunham-Bush catalog info, not sure if it has wiring info but I'll see if I can dig it up.

    VARI VAC

    Hey Steamhead,

Thanks for the response. I actually was able to dig that up, as well in some catalogs we have at our shop. None of it has any wiring diagrams.

    I have

two pieces of literature from Dunham Bush- The "Vari-Vac Differential Controller 389K" (I&O instructions) and the "Vari-Vac DTS-2 Programmable Timer"

Fairly narrow choices, the first has wiring diagrams from the differential controller to the vacuum pump and control panels in various configurations.

Let me know if you want me to scan and send them to you. (I cannot reliably post to the site for some reason, sometimes things do not "stick").

    On their way, Josh!

Just for giggles, I will try to post them here as well. If it works, all the better for the group.

You do understand that Dunham-Bush sold or transferred or morphed into MEPCO out in Iowa and they own the VariVac line. Not sure of the corporate path, but MEPCO is now the source and they still support the systems including with updated electronics.

Edit: I posted another catalog with the MEPCO brand. FYI.

    Just a thought here...

Brad, maybe you should send a PDF copy to Dan so he can post it in the Library. Some of this information is getting rarer than a hen turkeys eye teeth:-)

Just a thought, and thank you for your contributions.

    And why not?

    Good call there, Mark!

I will do so, direct to Dan.

    Cheers!
