My electrician has retired. I'm trying to put in a used boilermate thats kicking around the shop probono. Is not there a way to have the boilermate thermostat speak directly to the zone valve?

wire it as you....
would any tstat. Taco, Honeywell or which type?0 -
which control?
Smart control or Z ? As Kcopp said, wire it like any zone, just use the wiring diagram0 -
on the smart control
the two orange wires are the end switch that closes that you would use for a zone valve. Wire those like you would a tstat to a zone valve, or into a multi box for zone valves.
There is no power on the orange wires they are a dry contact.0 -
personally
I would get the retro-fit "Z" control for it, and throw the Smart control away. You'll be doing someone a big favor0 -
UGG..
nothing worse than getting a call for a buzzing sound from "my blue Amtrol". Every one I've installed at one point or another has came back for issues.
We've been installing Triangle Tube smart tanks now, nice and basic and no buzzing.0
