How much space do I need between the main and the ceiling to install a Gorton #2?

Also, can it be installed directly into the main without any sort of added height?

space needed
I am at work right now but I recently put in a menorah of 2 gortons #2's on a 1/2 pipe and 4 gorton #2's on a 3/4 pipe using an antler or straight line setup. By the time you come off the pipe add a tee or a 90 you are looking at a minumum of about 8.5 to 9 inches. Go to gwgillplumbingandheating.com and check out his steam section on maximizing venting. This is what I did and it really cut my time for the steam to reach from one side of the main to the other end. You could actually figure out by the length of your mains and size of the pipe how much venting you should have. Good luck. It is a bit of trial and error. I found the size on pexsupply.com
1/2” connection OVERALL HEIGHT 6 3/8”.0
