Repiping a Columbia on a Broomell System

Can't seem to find the "before" pics, but this CSFE-4150 steamer had its two 2-inch risers teed into a single 2" pipe which went up to the old 3-1/2" header. This caused some of the wettest steam we've encountered so far. Broomells usually have counterflow steam mains- this one does, which made things worse. It banged, gurgled and heated unevenly.

We ran both 2" risers up to a 3" drop header. In the first pic you can just see the steam still rising from the boiler after it had been shut down over an hour. That's the essence of Vapor!

With proper piping, a Vaporstat, low-pressure gauge and two new Gorton #2 dry return vents, the system heats quickly, quietly and evenly on about 5 ounces. Dead Men Smiling, anyone?

    Not many around here

this one was in Hagerstown, which is west of Baltimore. I know there is at least one in Baltimore but haven't found it yet.
