Shelby Electric Co. (OT)

Patented by Adolphe Chaillet, a french inventor and manufactured by Shelby Electric Co., the oldest lightbulb in the world will turn 110 on June 18th.

It hangs in a Livermore fire station after being moved from three other Livermore fire stations over the years.  The city is famous for being the home of Lawrence Livermore National Labs where the lightbulb has attracted the attention of many scientists.

But there have been detractors: When interviewed by the Chronicle, an electrical engineer at UC Berkeley said, "It's not possible.  It's a prank."
