Steam Trap Replacement

GNO
Member Posts: 4
I have a Weil Mcclain EGH-95 steam boiler and the radiators have "Bishop, Babcock" model 6 steam traps. Due to the water hammer I'm experiencing in the start of the heating cycle, I believe a have a few malfunctioning traps.
Can anyone suggest a steam trap replacement? Does Bishop, Babcock still produce steam traps?
Thanks!

Tunstall Associates in Chicopee MA make replacement parts for most traps out there. Barnes and Jones is one other name you can trust.
I am not familiar with your specific trap make, but if either of the above names cannot help you, I am not sure what to tell you.
I would replace all of the traps at once, not just the problem ones. The traps may or may not be your issue, but if the traps have not been serviced nor replaced in memory, it is good to re-set the clock on the lot of them. Does not hurt to buy a spare kit or two as long as you are ordering a few."If you do not know the answer, say, "I do not know the answer", and you will be correct!"
