hey everyone. im having trouble with a york packaged unit with a w7212 honeywell economizer. i have been to this job twice for no heat. upon arrival i found the heat running normal, but also find the economizer in the fully open position. i disconnect the plug and reconnect it and it closes, then come back to find it open. if im not mistaken i thought the economizer only opens on a call for a/c, depending on the enthalpy control am i missing something???

economizer
Hi Paul-
Your economizer does two things-it allows for free cooling when the enthalpy is low enough to use outdoor air instead of mechanical (compressor) cooling, and it also serves to bring in outdoor fresh air. Check the minimum OA damper position setting on the control-it sounds like it's either at the max set point, or has failed. If you can't dial the min position down with the pot switch, you can just disconnect it until you get the control replaced.0
