Motorized Damper Q

I have a residential oil fired one pipe steam system in my house. New Hydrotherm boiler installed this summer. I was wondering if I had a motorized damper installed if it would help with the efficiency of the system and is it worth it?

motorized dampers are for gas boilers not I repeat not oil.

Field brought out an oil-designed damper recently

the OVD series. One of these days I'll have to try one.

they do

have stack dampers for oil fired units, Field makes them, Flair was popular back in the late 70's early 80's. They do help reduce the stand-by temp loss.

I guess I stand corrected

Those Flair installs left a bad taste in my mouth. Of course it may have been the installers. Bill do you install many of these dampers? I am not a fan of sticking an electric damper on an oil flue.
