Hi everyone

I have a TT PE110 nat gas boiler in my house.

first zone cast iron radiators 7 of them on two floors coming off 2" supply and return pipe boiler condensing most of the time. looking at adding another zone with 4 radiators. one small bathroom, one in laundry room one in foyer and will add one in the basement. all 4 radiators are run home run 1/2" fostapex from a 3/4" header. any problems with this size zone? boiler is piped primary secondary. set up for main zone first & second floor radiators. second zone 4 radiators. third for future attic zone.

    Supply to new zone?

Are you going to be supplying the closely spaced tee's for the new zone with mixed temperature water from the existing zone?  For example, if you are using closely spaced tees for the existing radiator zone are they going to be installed inline ahead of the tees for the "new" zone?  If so, you will want to calculate the mixed water temperature available to the second set of tees and make sure you can meet the demand of that zone under design conditions.

Also you have to consider the PE110 (nat) has a low firing rate of 30K Btuh. If the heat load of the new zone is lower or close to that you should expect some short cycling.

There was an error rendering this rich post.
