house house oil steam, with tankless heater built in. They want to add an electric 40 gal heater. When I make my tie-ins, do I just put tee's on the H+C existing lines? Do I need to add check valves? The oil burner not giving enough hot water in the colder months.

what i would do....
is run the water through the coil. Then run the hot water from the coil into the cold of the tank water heater then out the hot water side to your fixtures. Wire the electric heater as if it were all by itself. (make sure it is full before energizing) This will temper the cold water to keep the operating costs down w/ the electric yet the electric will give them a head start.0
