steam system leaking steam?

Hi - I have an old one-pipe steam radiator system. My kitchen radiator is an old steam baseboard ("baseray"?) rather than a traditional upright radiator. Today steam was coming out of the baseboard in two places, and the wall above it was wet in one place. I've lived here 5 years and never seen this happen before - what could be the problem?   Should I get a plumber here tomorrow? Thanks!

Photos of radiator that leaked steam

Here are two photos. On one you can see some damage above the radiator. It was leaking steam from below that, where there's a flap that opens. The damage may not be new, but I hadn't seen it leak steam since we've lived here. The second location was at the end of the opening in the middle of the photo. Thanks!

my gut would tell me that you should consider getting a replacement baseray unit to replace that one...one problem will be that they new one will be battleship grey.
