Steam Hammering

Have Danfoss TSV and Tunstall steam trap installed on SteamView 2 pipe radiators throughout apartment.  Pre-war apartment building in NYC.  Located on 3rd floor of 16 floor building.  When first installed, no hammering to speak of.  This year cannot sleep thru the night.  Building recently replaced several plugged tubes in boiler and the risers sound like there is a greater volume of steam flowing.

Q1.  Would plugging tubes increase volume of steam

Q2. If yes to q1, would that be why we now have hammering ans sloshing water sound when heat starts

Q3.  What if any trap maintenance should be done.

    new hammering

most likely, the pressure has been raised to the point where the traps cannot work properly-but it makes the fuel company richer! the longer an over-pressure condition persists, the more likely a trap replacement will be needed, and that makes someone else richer, so it can't be bad for everyone!

was the boiler properly cleanned after all that work [see skimming on the search button]. --nbc
