wood question

Does OSB, ya know the plywood chip stuff, react to staple up or joist space heat. I mean as to opposed other sub floors?  There is some creaking on this one house but only on the addition with OSB. It has the same tile finish floor as the older house which has planks, and same heat.

Check with the plywood manufacturers association...

I remember this coming up at an RPA meeting, as potentially an issue, and it was then pointed out, that roofs typically use OSB, and that the glue would HAVE to be capable of withstanding significantly higher wood temperatures in that application then it would in a RFH application. Think dark shingles on a hot, windless, sunny day in Arizona....

I suspect that the problem is more of one that construction adhesive was not used to anchor the OSB to the framing members.,,

Tell the homeowner that it is "character" :-) NO ONE will be able to sneak up on them...

PEX stapled up with oxygen barrier tube has a tendency to squawk as the tubing moves through the staples. The EVOH barrier causes this.
