Oil Consumption

in Oil Heating
Just looking for some general guidance on oil consumption. I have a one-pipe steam system (heat only); 2,000 square foot, 2 story house with finished attic. I have 8 convector radiators that I use and two radiators on the attic floor that I keep off. In the past two months I have consumed approximately 350 gallons of heating oil. I keep the temperature between 63 and 69.
Am I consuming to much oil?

Consumption
If it's 70 degrees out side yes, if it's 20 below your doing very good.
You could probably make changes that would save oil. Seal up the envelope, Make sure you have enough enough main vents. Make sure your steam pressure is set down low. (.5) on the pressuretrol and the differential set at 1. Have a reputable tech service the burner and set it up for proper burning efficiency and firing range for you heating needs.0 -
