    JOT-TW I&O Manual

Hi Irv- I think the model number probably is 150. The "S" designates it is for steam rather than hot water. Attached is the I&O manual for that model. I checked the piping diagram. It only has the configuration and the pipe sizes. There is nothing on riser height so maybe that's why we see marginal heights on older systems.

can you post some pictures of your present piping, so we can see what might be the cause?

    picture post

    Irv,

To post a picture you just click the " File attachment "and browse to the files location on your computer; you can add more than one by going through that process as many times as you have pictures. Only jpg files or pdf documents can be uploaded.

    What size is the riser

from the boiler? Is there a bushing in the boiler tapping? What boiler size do you have? Is the return clear? And finally is your pigtail clean and clear inside?
Cost is what you spend , value is what you get.

    piping

The boiler is a peerless Jottw150s with a max cap of 180000and the IBR is 135000. The boiler has a 1.25 nozzle.Just cleaned out the pigtail and its clear. Two mains on a one pipe system, one is 33' with two gorton#1 on a tree, the other side is 49' with 3 gorton #1 on a tree.

The return for the shorter side I can see and it gets warm. The longer one I cant find. One half of the longer main is uninsulated, and part looks like its pitched level.

What measurement were you referring to as the riser? From the top of the boiler housing? Let me know thanks.
