in following up my prior thread ...

... i followed the advice, cut the old pigtail and installed a new pigtail, a 3 psi pressure gauge and the old pressuretrol higher up. photos show the results ... and how clogged the pigtail was. unfortunately, the reading on the new pressure gauge doesn't nearly match the pressuretrol, so I wonder can that old pressuretrol be recalibrated or would it need to be replaced? i also discovered that fittings around the sight gauge are insanely clogged so I might replace those this weekend (or at least clean them out). sadly none of this has improved the gurgling in my radiator vents as I'd hoped it would. i wonder if I could recalibrate the pressuretrol it would actually produce steam / pressure at the right levels and that would help? the puzzle continues ...

really nice
job on the new install.
some pressure devices have a little jewelers screw in the some where perhaps covered over by some blue or red thread sealant...play with the screw if you find it at your own risk...but you may just get that control calibrated properly.1-pipe Homeowner - Queens, NYC

What is below the pigtail?
Looks nice. From what I read on this board Pressurtrols are prone to being wildly inaccurate.
I need to redo my pigtail and add a gauge as well. What is that fitting directly below the pigtail? Is it necessary? In my case the pigtail will screw in directly to the top of the LWCO so it's a little different. Also are all those fittings brass?0 -
Pressuretrol Tester/Calibrating.
Hi - On the subject of calibrating your pressuretrol. you might be interested in this thread.and the ingenious device Gerry Gill invented to test and calibrate pressuretrols. Much more accurate than trying to do it with a pressure gauge on a boiler without a King valve.

European
I couldn't get the picture to copy. But looks like Siemens makes a pressure control in Europe.

Hi- I haven't read/spoken French in years but from the description "3.5 BAR" = approx 50 PSI and"steam chamber" and injection nozzle" and "Start /stop button" it sounds more like some sort of unit used for spraying or something like that. Do you have an address to the webpage with the picture?

below the pigtail is a union
below the pigtail is a union that allows you to join parts without turning them, which is essential in small spaces, etc. on the original post jpf321 posted links to a website from which I bought all the hardware and the last link is the union. i assembled everything above and below the union ahead of time, and after that it took about 20 minutes to cut through the pigtail (carefully! i didn't want to break the sight glass) and complete the install.
unfortunately the hardware for the sight gauge is also all clogged so I think i'll need to remove those and replace them as well the fittings, spigot and nipples.
i have an automatic water feeder and i'd like to make sure the sensor is clean how do I do that or is that better left to a pro?0 -

I translated steam pressure control and Googled it.
I experimented with the internal adjustments yesterday I got the unit to cut in just under 1/2psi and cuts out with needle on the upside of one. This on a system that is the reference for piped wrong. I was amazed at how the banging stopped and the system quieted down.0
