Burning off road diesel vs. #2

Wallies,
In my neck off the woods, Off road diesel is cheaper than #2 fuel oil. Is there any advantage buring one over the other? I understand I will have to deal with transporting it and filling my own tank, which makes it less appealing. Are there any concerns about burning it?
Tank is inside my basement, and it probably has various forms of scum growing in it.
Thanks

LarryC #2 is cleaner. There are no problems with burning it but storing it in an old tank could be an issue. You might find that it "cleans" the sludge from the inside of the tank, fouling the filters more frequently that you're used to. You'll find that there will be less deposits in the heat exchanging surfaces at cleaning time, assuming the system is set up properly.
