Fellas,
Any good alternatives to Gorton steam vents. Every year, I am cleaning them, and they dont close when they should .I installed an old Vent-rite on one of the rads and it works great! Can't seem to find them on long island.
Thanks,
Irv

Steam Vents
Hi- It would seem that a lot of people on here use Gorton #1 or #2 vents for main vents and adjustable Hoffman 1A or Vent-rite for radiator vents. You can find both at Pex Supply on the internet.

Irv Gortons work well
I do like the vent rites. They are not well represented in your area. Aubuchan Hardware also caries them for internet sales. Hoffmans are great vents and well represented on the Ilse of Long. I am thinking other issues are going on if the Gortons are not holding up. Wet steam, and such.Cost is what you spend , value is what you get.
