What is the normally open position on a wirsbo manifold ?

Normally closed?
If it is the old style classic manifold with the black conical caps over the operating stem, with no telestat on them, they are normally open. If you are referring to the flow setting adjustment, turning it in closes it. I usually close them all the way then back them out until they are a dimes thickness above the brass collar. But then again, all of my loops are the same length...

Dimes thickness?
Mine are set higher than that. Just curious why a dime thickness? Also on a side note, what is the ideal temperature change between the supply manifold and return mainifold?0
