Anyone recommmend a SIMPLE programmable thermostat?

Can anyone recommend a SIMPLE, programmable thermostat for a 2-wire, 30 v.a.c. system?



I have an old hydronic system with cast iron radiator  and a pretty new boiler. One zone, no zone valves. Thermostat just goes to the two "T" terminals on the aquastat. Got a honeywell  7 day programmable thermostat  RCT8101A that is not working out, even with their pretty good help line. The thing is just way more complex than this system. 



What's been working is a simple, mercury switch type, White Rogers. Two wires, 30 vac. I spent most of yesterday on a chore that should have taken no more than 30 minutes.....

The Honeywell VISIONPro 8000 is the only thermostat we use. It's extremely easy to program and you also see both the target temp as well as the actual temp at all times.

which I have used for radiant floor, panel rads as well as dusty hot air/AC. You can pull them off the base and sit down at a table to program them. If you mess them up experimenting you can reset them to "0" and start over. They learn how long it takes to come back to temp after a setback so if you want it warm at 8 am they adjust the start burner time based on how long it take to warm up.

I took one with me when I moved. The old style one in the rental house I am in now turns the burner on at 8 if I set 8am so I need to constantly readjust it as it gets colder. You can buy Visionpros online.
