Adding a hot water zone to a steam Oil Fired Furnace

I need to know how to add a hot water zone to an existing one zone steam boiler system. I believe the boiler is 80's model. Need specific info about how to set up the run of copper, and adding valves and such. And if you could explain the theory behind that would help me to figure it out better as well. I really need to know at what spot in the system to put the parts and what parts to get. This would make it a total of two zones for the house. I have heard of adding a water heater and doing it that way which is better? This would only be adding heat to one room.

why not just install
a steam radiator? Does the room have a radiator already?Cost is what you spend , value is what you get.

how-to-do-it-yourself
an excellent description of how this is done is in "the lost art of steam heating", available from the shop here. many other topics are covered, including correct steam boiler terminology.--nbc0 -
No radiator It is a four season room that was added later
I dont want to tap into the existing iron pipes because they still have asbestos insul. over them. The only option for me would be to tap in and add another zone or use a separate water heater. I just need a list of parts to get and where to put them in the line.0 -
Then as said
Dans book has it all listed out.Cost is what you spend , value is what you get.

Hot Water Zone
Hi- What is the height distance between the boiler water level and the proposed radiator?

I'm not putting in a radiator I'd be putting in baseboard
It's on the first floor and the boiler is in the basement. It's not that far away from the boiler. Is there a limitation there?0
