steam pigtails
It is always a good idea to protect your pressuretrols and gauges with a pigtail. Install and add a little water before mounting the pressuretrol. This keeps the steam from coming in direct contact with the diaphragm in the control.0 -
That is Weil Mclains way
to not use pigtails. I do not like it but they use that instead of the siphon loop. I have often seen installations where the elbow is facing up and the header is dry. Installers error for sure. I prefer facing the elbow up and using the siphon loops with unions and the little pipe nipples that come with the header.Cost is what you spend , value is what you get.

the weil mclain way
peerless also, because they believe the syphon so obtained will be less likely to plug up, and that the extra mass of water will even out the pressure fluctuations-not!!--nbc0 -
I guess they forget
That psi does not care how wide of an area it is pressing onCost is what you spend , value is what you get.
