High efficiency system and Tax Credit?

I'm looking to buy a high efficiency gas boiler like Burnham ALP105 Alpine 83,000 BTU Output Condensing Boiler or Triangle Tube Prestige Solo 60 High Efficiency Modulating Gas Boiler 95%.

Do I still qualify for Federal Tax Credit up to $1500 on this purchase even if I get it installed by a regular local contractor/technician or what are my other options. Thank You.

    Yes

You will get a tax credit of 30% the cost of the boiler up to 1500.00 until 12/31/10.

So if you spend 5000.00 for a high efficiency boiler you will get a tax credit of 1500.00.

If you spend 3000.00 for a high efficiency boiler you will get a tax credit of 900.00.

There is no credit for electric furnace or boilers.

But if you buy a Geo Thermal heat pump you get 30% credit no cap.

Tax Credit: Cost of Equipment or Installation?

Thanks Gordy, so this tax credit is for how much you're spending on gas boiler itself, not the total cost with installation and everything?

    Yes it does

It's the boiler and installation that can qualify for the credit.  Check out IRS.GOV
