    vents

Main vents are made buy a few people and they tend to be similar in operation, most think highly of Gorton and Hoffman for large venting needs. The Ventrite 35 is good if you need a small vent and its about the same as a Hoffman 4A.You select a main vent my determining how much volume your near boiler piping and the main have and then determining how many of what type you need.

If you have a long large steam main you might need several large vents. If it's a short main a single Hoffman 4A might be enough. You want to vent the main as fast as you can in most cases.

    IMO

I've tried both the Hoffman main vent and Gorton. I like the Gorton hands down.

and I like the Vent rite for the smaller venting. Hoffman is not that popular in my area so it is a regional thing, just like vent rite is hard to find around NYC.
Cost is what you spend , value is what you get.
