Gremlin in my T-stat?

An odd occurrence this morning:

My White Rodgers (model 1F85RF-275) decided to go into a "hold" status all by itself. I have it programmed for a set back to 64 (I know there are cons to this), to come back up to daily operating temp of 67 starting at 6:30AM. I awoke cold, the temp reading was 62, and the T-stat in "hold." Even stranger, I swore I heard the exhaust fan pop on at the right time (I have a pre-venting system). So, what I think happened was:

- T-Stat signals for heat at the right time, system exhaust vent turns up.

- Shortly thereafter the T-Stat signals hold, causing the temp to drop below my "low" setting. since the boiler never gets going (hard to know if it fired or not).

This happened once before back in October, didn't think much of it. Is my T-stat fried, or could there be some other reason?

PS - I do have the T-stat on an iso-relay.

PPS - Should have mentioned that in the morning date and time on the T-stat were wrong as well.
