Have a Lochinvar Model TLR 200-100 turbo charger propane fired water heater,
on start up when the gas valve opens, ignition stumbles and pops, I have'nt looked to deep yet, looking for direction, im thinking gas valve, pre-purge ok, hot surface ok, valve on and then poor ignition, pop and stumble.
any ideas? thank you

Sounds like...
an air/fuel adjustment to me. I'm not familiar with that particular product, but regardless, if the air fuel ratio is wrong, it will have issues lighting off.
You MUST use a combustion analyzer to figure it out. Even if you get it to light off smoothly, you could be producing too much still be producing excess CO.
I'd recommend starting at the factory level and moving up from there. They have THE most experience with the product.
MEIt's not so much a case of "You got what you paid for", as it is a matter of "You DIDN'T get what you DIDN'T pay for, and you're NOT going to get what you thought you were in the way of comfort". Borrowed from Heatboy.0
