In past house had used Maid o mist vents with interchangeable screw on caps..but I have come across an item that looks of high quality but unconventional.... VARIVALVE by Heat-Timer Corp in Fairfield NJ.
It has a sliding variable thing on side.
Has anyone used them and will they out perform Maid O Mist?
This sliding feature would be great to adjust each radiator some what.
Thanks

They are supposed tobe good vents.....
many of the top pros use them. However, I believe they vent waaay too fast. This can cause uneven heating, banging radiators and other problems. I recommend large main vents, with small radiator vents, like the Hofman 1A adjustable or Ventrite adjustable. There was an error rendering this rich post.

Cast Iron Staem Radiator Vents... varivalve
I have used varivalve vents on large steam radiators and found that they work very well. I can't say that they are any better than Maid of Mist #D unless you need to make a lot of adjustments. They certainly cost a lot more.0
