put an hourmeter on the boiler but........

it looks like i bought a counter and not an hourmeter:

Took a little while to figure out why after switching the thermostat on and off, the hourmeter read 6 hours. Duh, its a counter, not an hourmeter. The saga continues.

More proof that 1890's equipment does not want to be modernized. :-)

The good news is this though!
If you now get an hour meter you can see how many times your unit cycles in an hour. I would move the counter so it counts how often the unit fires and see if you are short cycling.Cost is what you spend , value is what you get.
