Would you like to be Santa to a child living in a New York City shelter? If so, chances are good that yours will be the only gift that girl or boy gets this year.



I'm putting together the list of 2010 Secret Santas that I'll be sending to New York Cares. They'll send me the letters to Santa and I'll forward your child's letter to you, along with complete instructions.



If you'd like to participate, please <strong>E-MAIL </strong>me at <a href="mailto:dan@heatinghelp.com">dan@heatinghelp.com</a> with your name, physical address, and the number of kid letters you'd like me to send you.



PLEASE don't post your request here because I'm liable to miss it. I've found in the past that e-mail is best for this. The cutoff for letter requests is November 20.

    Let's help mmore kids.

    My wife and I have been doing this for a few years. We really enjoy helping where we can, but it's fun for us too. Some of the requests you get are pretty far fetched, but you remember the age of the kids and where there are in life and you do what you can. I know the little bit we do makes a difference in the life of a child who might not have anything if it weren't for our efforts.



    People get pulled in many directions this time of year. Weather through Dan's Secret Santa or some other outlet, be sure to help those who have nothing. Give someone a smile for the holidays.
