Looking for info on effects in a boiler room pressurized from building return fan. I just took on a building with four atmospheric heating boilers 1,500,000 btuh each. They are old Lockinvar draft hood style with 'B' vent 10 ft. through the roof. The combustion air opening to outside are pushing air out, the draft on the boilers not running is quite strong. The only thing I got out of the building operator was the fan was always there, for twenty years. I am just getting used to the building & I think the outdoor automated damper system for fresh air is over pressurizing the whole building & effecting the boiler room. What I am looking for to explain to the customer is some info on this condition, thanks.

boiler room air
The codes say you must balance air flow in a boiler room. We have used equipment manufactured by a company called EXHAUSTO. (www.exhausto.com) for ventilating boiler rooms. They have systems set up with pressure switches that can equalize boiler room pressure for combustion air and they work extremely well. Look up the site for a dealer near you.0
