Dirt separator location

Mod-Con primary secondary.

Very short Primary. This is a floor unit so the boiler is basically the lowest point.

Can I install callefi in primary return right by LWCO since its the lowest point?

or should it be on secondary return cause flow is slower there?

Alpine installed as per manual secondary pump pulling water from primary with scoop combo right before pump.

thanks

    protect the boiler

that being the priority then install a separator right at the return piping to the boiler. It does not need to be at the lowest point in the system to work properly.

If it is connected to an old iron pipe system they may "shed" rust and scale forever, a second device on the secondary would be an option.

Size it properly to be in the 2-4 fps velocity range to assure best results.
