Help with Luxpro PSP722E Thermostat

I have a single stage heat pump and propane backup/aux heat.  

1. Should I set the Luxpro 722 to be 1 stage or 2 stages of heat.

2. How do I control the point at which the Aux Propane comes on?  The Swing setting looks like it MIGHT do this although it specifically says it controls multiple stages of heat/cool.  Since my heatpump is single stage, I don't know if the AUX heat is considered a 2nd stage.  Or is there another way to control how much temp variation there is in the room temp and the set point before the AUX comes on?

    anyone out there?

    Anyone else have any suggestions?  This seems like a popular stat, surely someone has worked with it before.   The CONTACT page on the Lux website is not working.
