Boilers ugh!

I have an old American Standard gas boiler for baseboard heating in my home. The other day it stopped working and a friend diagnosed it as having a bad high limit switch. I couldnt replace just the limit switch due to its obsolescence and had to buy a new Aquastat from honey well. It fired up but then shut off again when the temp reached 140 degrees and wont fire up again. Its a dual zone make up and both thermostats are calling for heat. What else could I or should I be checking for a problem?
