Riello Burner not firing...

Riello 40-F5, brand new .. When I flip on the power, the electronic shutter opens, the blower blows, in a few secs I hear what sounds like a pipe with running domestic pressure water (a hiss like sound) then lockout.

I have a tiger loop (2-pipe) and see that there is fuel in the dome. All connections are tight.

When I shine light in air tube cover, as per 2-pipe pre-purge directions, no hiss and no lockout.

I have left it pre-purge (using the light) for several minutes, is there an average pre-purge duration?

When I open the bleed valve while blower is on, fuel comes shooting out.

I don't hear any "clicks" per se, could it be a solenoid?

I must admit, that when I first wired it, I connected the Aquastat to 7

& 8 rather than 1 & 2...(the little circuit diagram card that is

inserted in the primary has them labeled backwards. Only the stampings

on the plastic are correct. Why they enclose that card, I have no idea.) EvenI had them backwards, I did get fire for a couple of minutes. It went off when I shut off the switch and has never come back.

Could I have damaged the pump?

Since the blower blows, the motor is OK correct?

Could it be the 12.5uF Capacitor? I hope so. I have a local shop that carries Riello parts open today, I'm open to suggestions.

Does someone have the Riello Troubleshooting table that they'd like to reference/share?

FYI, Riello Manual is here: http://is.gd/gtR5v

    fantastic Bob...but ...

after 2hrs sleep, I was up bright and early with a clear head .. and realized that I had probably burnt out the valve coil .. a couple bucks later, I had one in hand, installed it and now she fires up perfectly.

if you ever put your aquastat on 7 & 8 ... you will burn out your coil :-)

in business, and my wife is eagerly awaiting the results ...

    Glad to hear it's working

I have done silimilar in the past. The worst is realizing it's your own fault but you had some "help" from that botched instruction sheet. The best news is that is one mistake you won't make again!

I would send Reilio a note thanking them for their help.
