using central ac system to distribute heat

I have central AC and hydronic baseboard heat in my house. I am able to just run the AC fan on low without the evap and condenser. I was thinking that since the register is at the highest point of the house, if I ran the fan in the winter it would take that hot air that collects up high and redistribute it throughout the house. An added benefit would be that it filters the air too. The downside is that some of the ductwork runs through the attic. The ducts are insulated but it can get pretty cold up there in the winter.
I was just wondering if this would work. Thanks

use some thermometers
maybe you could buy a few cheap probe type thermometers and place them at the supply and returns to see what might happen.0 -
good idea
Thanks for the idea Mark. That's simple enough to do. I'll give that a try before I seal up the system for the winter. I guess if it works in the cool fall weather I'll need to check it again in the dead of winter.0
