Cleanout steam radiators?

Removed valve from radiator on one-pipe system. Turned up heat, no air, no steam coming out of valve hole. Gotta believe radiator is clogged w/ debris. Anybody had success in opening the plug on end of radiator opposite steam input side and inserting long drill bit to clean out suspected debris? Old house in Jersey City, NJ. Probably built in 1930's. Almost all radiators in house get hot only in 1st third of radiator.

I'd be amazed if you were able to open one of those plugs. Instead, why dont you loosen the union on the valve side and look in there? What about the steam vents? If you remove them you get no steam coming out of them? Good luck, Adam0 -
Possibly.
I wouldn't bet on the radiator being completely clogged enough to cause your problem.
How long did you wait for the system to run? Is the supply valve completely open?0
