I'll get right to the point . Got to the system ,found burner off ,ventor motor not working replaced. Cannot get the system to run with ,inlet and out venting . If I remove the hose from the vent box to the ignitor box system runs . I put a Magellanic on it I pull 1.3" w.c. with hose off .If I attach the hose I get .25" w.c. . So I checked burner and cleaned , not much dirt . Boiler look clean .Hope I didn't ramble. Any suggestions

Intake Air
Hi Jim,
Is the intake air blocked in any way? I have cleaned all sorts of stuff from intake air piping on sealed combustion appliances. Wasp nests, spider webs, and leaves primarily. I had one lady that was raking & placing the leaves right in front of the intake air on an older condensing furnace that I used to service. Good Luck & let us know what you find out0 -
Bad air switch.
Big Jim,
If memory serves me correctly, the diaphragm switch is looking for negative air pressure there, and not excess negative pressure indicating a blocked combustion air vent. I suspect you have a bad switch that isn't activating until is sees a significant negative pressure.
Try jumping it out at the right time with the hose connected, and if it fires and the combustion numbers look good, it is just a bad switch. Most of those switches have an adjustment screw, but you will have to dig out the glue the factory puts on it after they set it. I think they call it "witness" glue. They can tell if any adjustments have been made to the switch after the fact. If it requires adjustment, I'd order a new one for replacement. If the combustion numbers look bad, you may have an occluded intake vent as Ross pointed out above.
I've been thinking about your lovely wife all month when I see pink. Give her a hug from me.
