I am surmising this is a data logging function compared to actual degree days, which is something we use to corroborate other calculations. But if the utility is doing this through their metering methods, if you can wait for a year or two under the keel, why not?
Sounds intriguing and if scaled down to a utility service, it could be a fantastic way to have homeowners benchmark their heating costs and see when they drift off-course."If you do not know the answer, say, "I do not know the answer", and you will be correct!"
