Tappings are reversed

My boiler Burnham IN6 cracked. Bought a semi new unit in excellent condition. however on my boiler there is a drain on the left side and a 21/2 pipe on the right side. the same IN6 unit I bought has the pipe and drain reversed Can I simply switch the tappings?

    why not consult the burnham website for the installation manual, and see if there is any harm in reversing the tappings? also use this opportunity to check all your piping and make sure it follows the makers intentions.

    can you see why the old boiler failed as you remove it? certain boiler failures are the  result of piping irregularities.--nbc
