      Hello,

Loking for advise on the Brand/Model of Indirect Water Heater in term of performance, efficiency, quality, warranty (parts and labor), cost/easiness of maintenance.

I am looking for one 40 to 60Gl for a 2 family house in NY.

I am not asking here about specific model but about Brand/Product line

Thank you,

Vad

    My favorites:

    - Viessmann Vitocell 300 stainless steel ($$$)

    - Viessmann Vitocell 100 steel with enamel finish ($$)

    - Triangle Tube Smart series ($)

    8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour

Two btu per sq ft for degree difference for a slab

    Turbomax

You mentioned performance. Turbomax has the highest hot water output .. But all depends on you boiler output.

Me not sure on the Viesman. But I stay away from stainless tanks. I seen a lot over the past with bad welds...

    indirect

I second Alan's recommendations, the Viessmann SS tanks have a lifetime warranty and I have never seen one go yet. But I have seen many other brand SS tanks go at the welds as Ed mentions.

    Viessmann Vitocell

Best pound for pound tank when we are talking about the V or H 300 tank. Tank construction is the same 316Ti stainless as the Vitodens boiler to include the welds. Most companies use fillers in their welds as to Big Ed's post. In 20 years never seen, heard or saw a leaking Vitocell 300 tank.

Coil is larger than traditional indirects and the tank allows for a 95% draw before recovery. Has a recir pump port also.
