LWCO replace or rebuild?

The McDonnell &Miller model # 67 LWCO on my residential steam boiler seems to function properly .During weekly blowdowns last winter I always made sure that the boiler would shut down momentarily on low water. I do seem to get a lot of crud out of the boiler at the same time. I see that McDonnell & Miller offer a replacement head w/ float assembly for the #67 ,should I do this? can I do this? What would you guys do? Thanks

Replace it
If it's 15 years old or older, I would replace the control. It's not very expensive and, as Mcdonnell Miller used to say, "It has earned its retirement".
If it's less than 15 years old, I would continue to blow it down until it's 15th birthday or until it gave me a problem.0
