On a well pump switch on at 30 and off at 50 at what point should the low pressure lock out work?.
Mine right now comes on just barely under the on set point of 30 pounds... shouldn't it be considerably lower than that?

Sq D M4
According to Square D, The M4 (with low water cutoff) switch cuts off approximately 7 PSI below cut- in set-point.0 -
Sq D FSG2 M4
If it is a Sq D switch,, the cut-off point is below the cut-in so the pump will not run dry, if you keep trying to take water and the well cannot provide.
As HDE points-out the manual override setting usually kicks-in at 7-10 PSI below@20-40 PSI setting,,, if the quadrant is raised, the kick-out is reduced even farther .
So IF you are running perhaps 2 lawn sprinklers, and someone flushes a toilet(at the same time), you may experience (what the switch thinks), a low water condition.0
