Double shot,

I watched a radiant guy put the Uponor 1/2' pex ring on the hand tool & expanded only about 50% of it,then the ring slipped onto the pex tubing ,then he expanded the pex and ring [ 2nd shot] and put the fitting in .How many times can pex be reexpanded? Thanks!

Pex "A" best known as AquaPex and Wirsbo HEPEX can be re-expanded until your arms fall off. The tubing is always going to go back to it's original size. That's why no crimp ring and the wall of a Wirsbo/Uponor fitting is larger that others. The tubing itself is really making the seal sucking down on the fitting. The ring gives added assurance. If you crimp it and I know guys that do, the tubing it actually pushing away from the fitting. Over time that joint could begin to develope a leak. They introduced a crimp system (SSC) for a very short time. Used chinch crimp style similiar to an automotive/irrigation clamp.
